H7 Story: Generous Hearts

As middle and high school students prepare for the excitement of summer camps and conferences, Amelia Larsen had a spark of inspiration. A creative thinker with a heart as big as her ambitions, Amelia pondered over how she and her fellow students could gather funds for their much-anticipated summer camp. The solution? A bake sale by donation - but not just any bake sale. This would be an event that would bring together talents, a dash of teamwork, and the sweet taste of community spirit.

Putting her plan into action, Amelia encouraged a group of her peers, who were all eager to mix, whisk, and preheat their way to an exciting week of summer camp.
But it wasn't just about the baking. The students took on the challenge of organizing this event, displaying leadership and dedication that went far beyond their years. They set up tables across all three church campuses to sell what they had prepared.

The day of the sale was a testament to the hard work and unity of these students. These students are so thankful for the overwhelming support of our church Thanks to your generosity, the bake sale was a success, raising over $1,200 towards the students' summer camp fund.
Amelia said “I was completely blown away by the generosity that was shown. People were giving $20s for two cookies! To me, it exemplified the generous heart that the church should have, to reflect the heart of our God!” It's stories like these that remind us of the importance of community, creativity, and, of course, a good batch of cookies.
