H7 Story: Christmas Eve Service
What a joy it was for all three campuses to come together at Tusculum University to celebrate the birth of Christ on a day that we won't soon forget. Over 700 people (from our best count) gathered in one location for a powerful and God-honoring worship service to give glory to the Messiah, who came to save.
The atmosphere was excited as we lifted our voices in praise, filling the air with an overwhelming sense of worship for the Shepherd-King. A choir of more than 30 singers, supported by an orchestra of 12 and a band of 10, filled the room. Adding to the beauty of the moment, around 20 of our kids joined the musicians on stage for one of the songs, which brought smiles to many faces.
Scott delivered a message filled with hope found in the coming of the Messiah. Drawing on the book of Micah, he reminded us that even in the darkest of times, hope is always found in the one who came to save. He reminded us, "If Jesus was God in the flesh and He has trampled your sins underfoot and cast them to the unseen depths of the sea, then the only way to have an actual Merry Christmas is to know your life is a gift of faithful worship! You must realize that the miracle of God making Himself known in the flesh is the only hope you have against your sin and the only hope you have of understanding the true and lasting joy of Christmas!"
A huge shoutout to Chad Grindstaff and family and to Chad’s staff here at Tusculum. Thank you for your help in making this happen! We can't thank you enough for all the help and making sure everything ran smoothly.

This day also would not have been possible without a dedicated group of staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly from Wednesday through Sunday to plan and pull off every detail of this special event. Not only were there hours spent preparing, but many were "prayparing" that God alone would receive the glory and that Christ would be at the forefront of the service.
During the worship service, a group of devoted Kids' volunteers lovingly cared for the preschool and younger children, creating a safe and nurturing space for them to experience God's love.

Before and after the service, the lobby filled with the joy of old friends reconnecting over a spread of cookies and coffee. Much laughter and heartfelt conversations created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. After the service, a dedicated team of volunteers swiftly cleaned and packed everything to return to each campus.
During his sermon, Scott's description of the body of believers at FCC said it best. It is a church united by individuals who live their lives in humble submission to the King, recognizing that their unseen faithfulness brings Him glory. Their commitment is not measured by the size of the crowd but rather by their unwavering worship of the Savior. The people of this church have become a constant source of strength and encouragement for one another, maintaining a relentless focus on living to the glory of a God who bestowed His Son upon them when they were lost and without hope.
Thanks to every one of you who gave selflessly. We can't wait until next year!
