H7 Story: Pursuing Generosity Together
One of the many ways that FCC pursues Helping people of Greene County Find and Follow Jesus is to support local outreach ministries that help the community. From Mother's Day in May until Father's Day in June, FCCers made efforts to collect loose change for the Hope Center's baby bottle fundraiser. What a beautifully symbolic time of year to do so, don't you think? Our decision to Pursue Generosity together, enabled FCC to raise $5,653.24 for the Hope Center! What an exciting blessing to give!
How is our Generosity helping, you may ask? The best way to explain that is to tell you about the Hope Center itself. Many know the Hope Center as a pregnancy crisis center, but it is far more than just that. The Hope Center supports parents beyond just unplanned pregnancies. They offer medical services such as pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and maternity and infant supplies. The Hope Center provides medically accurate information about all types of abortion and counseling to help mothers make informed decisions. In cases when it is needed, they also offer post-abortion counseling. They offer counseling on the different options for adoption and the pros and cons of choosing to go the adoption route. They also give parents resources and referrals for prenatal care, childbirth preparation classes, parenting classes, and infant supplies.
The Hope Center has even nominated a young mother for a scholarship through "Unplanned Movie" and Heartbeat international. That same mother received the scholarship and is now enrolled in a local college and working towards a nursing degree. What an incredible way to help a mother improve the quality of her and her child's life!
Our Lead Pastor, Scott Wakefield serves on the board at the Hope Center. Bob Radank and Brandon Ivy also help at the Hope Center by volunteering to mentor men to be intentional Fathers. This same option of mentorship is offered to mothers, as well. This is an excellent way for other FCCers to volunteer and extend the reach of Helping people find and Follow Jesus.
Your change went towards not only supporting the right to life but also all the different ways that the Hope Center is helping babies, mothers and fathers beyond just the infant years.
