H7 Story: Exodus 14 Ministries
First Christian Church launched Catalyst Coffee Company in 2014 as a marketplace ministry with a simple purpose: to be a catalyst for the long-term health of our community by
PRODUCING GOODNESS and PROMOTING OTHERS.
Inside the downtown shop, a sign sums up the mission clearly:
“We make money to give away money—providing space to gather and build relationships over a cup of fresh, locally roasted coffee—so we can give away 100% of net profits to existing ministries and nonprofits.”
General Manager Nathan Dickerson often reminds people that every donation Catalyst makes truly comes from the community:

October 2025 Donation
Each year, Catalyst’s goal is to donate all of its profits to local organizations working to bring hope and healing to Greene County. In October, Catalyst gave $1,000 to Exodus 14 Ministries, a local, faith-based addiction recovery program that is transforming lives through the hope of Christ.
Exodus 14 provides a free, year-long residential program designed to help men and women break free from addiction and rebuild their lives through spiritual, emotional, and physical restoration. Their team—many of whom are former clients themselves—walks alongside participants through counseling, biblical teaching, discipleship, and daily accountability.
Because most of the staff have personally experienced addiction and found freedom in Christ, they now dedicate their lives to helping others do the same. The result is a ministry marked by empathy, authenticity, and the power of the Gospel.
Catalyst is honored to help support this Christ-centered work happening right here in our community.
Catalyst’s Ongoing Impact
While Exodus 14 is the most recent recipient, Catalyst’s profits have supported many local non-profit organizations over the years, including organizations such as:
These partnerships reflect Catalyst’s heartbeat: helping people experience hope, dignity, and transformation through the love of Jesus and the strength of the local community.
By highlighting just a few of the organizations impacted by Catalyst’s profits, we hope you see the bigger picture: when you buy a cup of coffee at Catalyst, you aren’t just enjoying something local and delicious—you’re part of real, Gospel-driven change in Greene County.
Every latte, every meeting inside the shop, and every dollar spent becomes a tangible investment in ministries like Exodus 14, where lives are being restored and people are discovering freedom in Christ.
