H7 Story: We Multiply Influence by Reproducing Leaders.
Jennifer Tipton has been attending FCC since 1978. She recalls her mother bringing her when she was a baby and that her first job helping was in the high school groups a couple of Sundays a month when she would aid a woman named Betty Fletcher.
In sports, when someone hits some sort of career milestone or they have a particularly amazing game, the team will often award them a game ball. Years ago, we decided that even though we aren’t an athletic program, we can do the same here at FCC! For the last few months, we’ve been sharing about the people we honored at our last team bash. The last of these to be recognized is Jennifer Tipton.
“I love God and sharing his love to the children,” Jennifer explained when asked why she continues to serve year after year. “I enjoy the little kids and seeing their faces and excitement in learning about God.” This is evidently true of Jennifer because not only does she serve on the weekend, but her life during the week includes working as a librarian in the Greene County school system.
“I saw the people of the church invest in me and my peers. They helped and served for years. I feel like partly it’s my turn to serve the church and invest in the children. I had some amazing mentors and friends while growing up in the church.”

Jennifer has served in Kids Min longer than just about anyone else other than maybe her own mother, Linda Swaney. Both of these ladies have been instrumental in helping train many of the people currently serving our children.
“I think everyone who has served in Kids Min has served with Jennifer in Early Childhood to get their start,” Early Childhood Director Samantha Schubert explained. "Kids Min Director Michael Schubert and I both served under her, and she is consistent and always ready to train new youth about how to care well for our Early Childhood kiddos.”
Our unity with Christ is reflected in our unity with one another. When we are a team, we show whom we belong to. We display the character and nature of God. We are bearing with one another in love and demonstrating humility, patience, and gentleness. You have to be humble to serve on a team and not act as if the team is there to serve you. You have to be gentle as you work with others. And you must demonstrate patience as you work to not be easily offended.
FCC is so appreciative to have Jennifer Tipton on board as one of these amazingly patient and steady volunteers. She is so incredibly valuable to our church and to the body of Christ, and we thank her for all she has done for so many decades of her life.
