H7 Story: GHS Valentines Outreach
by Jess Tarlton
On Valentine’s Day, a Ladies’ Life Group had the opportunity to pour out their love to the teachers and staff at Greeneville High School, by setting up a refreshments table. The Ladies' Life Group had their first opportunity to collaborate as a team during this time. Nilla Kemmann, Kaitlin Schubert, Zoé Breeding, Ashley Burns, Tessa Gourley, and Annie Herndon delegated their time to decorate and provide a warm, appreciative atmosphere.
The teachers and staff at GHS influence the minds and hearts of the next generation while putting in countless hours and frequently going unrecognized. Teaching is a challenging career, so it's important that we take the time to recognize and say thank you. Being catalysts for change and growth in young people's lives is a unique and significant opportunity!
As a token of appreciation, Catalyst supplied coffee, while FCC contributed cupcakes, hot chocolate, and a few other fixings. Yes! Of course strawberries were also offered.

The ladies were able to forge a connection by speaking with the principal, DeAnna Martin, as they were cleaning up. She was delighted that the group had arrived. She provided them with a comprehensive explanation of her responsibilities as the principle of GHS.
Not only were connections forged with the school and the principal, but the ladies in the Life Group grew closer and more connected as a result of this event. Life Group Leader, Nilla Kemmann said, "serving together as a group helped us to mature into a full-fledged life group, as it is intended to be. I think it is important to serve together to show we are a team, not just a group that meets together once a week. Before working together on this outreach event, our goal was to have a good life group and be connected (which are not bad things), but now our goals have expanded to showing love to the community. We want to be useful for Kingdom work and having that purpose unites us."
We are grateful for the chance to carry out God's work in our community.
