Just a few important items. Total Reading Time: 2 mins, tops.

Team Bash is Tomorrow and You Don't Want to Miss It! — You’ll wanna be there, for a couple reasons. The first is all the normal Team Bash qualities—gathering folks from across campuses, good food, getting to know other FCCers better, the fun of laughing together, and the Team Code Awards.

But the second is a big announcement we’re going to be making at the end of the night! Can’t tell you what it is, but Team Bash peeps get to find out first! So even if you’re new to FCC, have never served, only served that one time and that one thing, or you are pretty much there every time we open the doors, go to fccgreene.org/teambash to find out the details, watch past year’s highlight videos, and to register!

Last Chance to Complete Membership Renewal Process — We’ve seen really great response so far, in fact, the best we’ve had in the 3-4 years we’ve been doing this! Friendly Reminder:
  • Every existing member must renew every year and there is no ongoing active membership status from year to year without renewing one's membership. If you fail to renew one year, you are no longer an active member.
  • Basic agreement to our Confession of Faith (fccgreene.org/beliefs) doesn’t mean it fits 100% with your personal theological positions but that you agree that it’s comprised of Biblically warranted doctrinal positions which can form a healthy church and that you won’t teach contrary to it in FCC-sponsored settings. As we have previously noted in a couple places, if you disagree on a particular point or two, it is the consensus of our Elders that this is not necessarily a reason to not be a member. (See first bullet point under “Some Thoughts Re FCC Being More “Confessional” & Requiring Members to Affirm our Confession of Faith” in the Nov 8, 2021 ST, which you can get to on the app or fccgreene.org/st.)
  • The window for renewal ends at midnight on Jan 31. Basic info and instructions (and teaching resources) are at fccgreene.org/membershiprenewal. If your browser doesn’t automatically take you to the “Annual Membership Renewal” section, scroll down to it (and “Teaching & Resources,” if you wanna know more re why we place so much emphasis on membership. (Hint, because it’s far more Biblical than Western individualism and evangelical churches have taught us the last 4-5 decades.) If you need a hardcopy of the form, they’re available in The Hub on Sundays or the Church Office on weekdays (423-639-0126).

We Think We’re Getting Close to Hiring A New Students/Next Gen Director! – Sorry, I can’t really tell you much more, but we’re having good conversations with a couple candidates we really like and it looks like things are moving along well for hiring someone pretty soon. Yes, I know—we’ve said that before. But, point of interest here is that, along with many sectors of the marketplace lately, churches are having a hard time finding willing candidates, mostly when it comes to Preaching/Lead Pastor and Student Ministry, (which is weird to me. But I know a lot of churches who have experienced a lot of staff turnover, esp in student ministry. We’re apparently no great exception to that struggle, it seems.) Anyhoo, please pray with us for God’s leading and a speedy resolution to our search for a mature leader who is called by Him to love on and disciple our students and adult leaders for a long time to come.
