Sandy Celebration

Celebrating 8 Years of Sandy's Faithful Service to Catalyst!
By Scott Wakefield, Lead Pastor

"It's the end of an era." While that may sound a little hifalutin', for us at Catalyst Coffee Company in downtown Greeneville, TN, it nonetheless accurately describes our first 8 years because everything it has become has Sandy Nienaber's fingerprints all over it! (And you thought her talents were limited to being a noticeably loud laugh at the Greeneville campus during my sermons!)

Sandy jumped in during what ended up being a longer and more challenging launch than planned to put her unique stamp and leadership gifts to work. She has been the crucial cog to take Catalyst from dream to reality and has established what is now a viable long-term ministry presence in the community. While Catalyst is now a place for high-quality coffee, espresso drinks, and light fare, as well as a warm and inviting space to gather, strategize, and build relationships, oh yeah, by the way, almost forgot, it is also a way to open-handedly serve our community and give away 100% of profits to existing ministries and nonprofits already doing good work in Greene County! How cool is that?! As we at FCC formally take on ownership and leadership of Catalyst, that's a super cool vision we can get behind and a great foundation on which we hope to faithfully build.

For all this great work, Sandy is not only to be commended, but celebrated. Thank you, Sandy, for being energetic, flexible, and faithful. You have embodied the "everyday boring faithfulness" of humbly serving like Christ that we like to celebrate, and yes, indeed, as you said in this video, you "have left it better than you found it!"

Check out this 5-minutes video snippet of a sit-down we did to remember the last 8 years and chat through her experience as General Manager. (Video also available on the app, under "Watch" > H7: Tell the story.)
