H7 Story: Biblical Wisdom for Real Life Challenges
Is marriage God’s plan for your relationship?
Answering this question is one of the most important decisions in life and one that should be made in light of God’s Word and with the counsel of godly community.
To help answer that question, we are so glad FCC offers Merge, an 8-week class designed to give couples an opportunity to learn, seek wisdom, and receive Biblical counsel about marriage in a safe and authentic small group environment.
“Merge was an awesome way to open our eyes to conflicts and struggles and help give us ways to lean on the Lord as we work through them,” shared Garret and Claire Widmaier, who got married this past January. “It also showed us different perspectives on things we thought we had figured out.”

“Merge was an awesome way to open our eyes to conflicts and struggles and help give us ways to lean on the Lord as we work through them,” shared Garret and Claire Widmaier, who got married this past January. “It also showed us different perspectives on things we thought we had figured out.”
For Rance Tipton and Kaylee Brooks, Merge helped them better understand what a relationship that glorifies God looks like (which, btw, should be the ultimate goal of marriage). And, they added, “It helped us greatly in our communication with one another, and helped us know and understand one another better. It strengthened our relationship as a whole. As a seriously dating couple, it also helped us better prepare for what the next steps (engagement, marriage) will look like and showed us things that would need to be addressed beforehand.”
The growth and understanding these two couples experienced was a result of working through a thorough curriculum, hearing from different marriage ministry leaders who vulnerably shared their experiences, and from the personal investment in their lives by their facilitator couple, Daniel and Meredith Shrader.
But the care demonstrated by Daniel and Meredith is also an extension of the care that FCC has for marriage. Why do we care so much about marriage? Because God cares about marriage!
So, if you are seriously dating or engaged, we invite you to take the opportunity to be poured into by couples who can help you discern the next step for your relationship. Join the next session that begins Thursday, Sept 25.
