H7 Story: Fruit For Their Labor

We are encouraged once again to hear from Jim and Laurie Barnes, who work in the Czech Republic. They serve with Open Door Libraries, an evangelical outreach that seeks to use libraries and community spaces to spread the Gospel. Jim and Laurie have been serving in the Czech Republic for 25 years.

The Barnes are praising the Lord for the recent venues they have been able to host in their Crossroads Library. Their 'Kids Life Story Hour' in February and March was a success. These outreaches impact the lives of the locals, young and old alike. As a result of these outreaches, they ask that we join them in prayer for the new believers who have come to know Christ as their Savior. And pray that the Lord will continue to bring in people with open hearts to hear the message of Christ's love.
Recently, in Prague, there was a mass shooting that took place. The shooting happened just days before Christmas and, as you can imagine, was very hard on so many people. The Barnes are asking that we pray with them and for their ministry to be a safe place for healing for many who are hurting. The nation is still mourning and hurting from this tragic event. The Barnes prayer is that "God will somehow redeem this horrific tragedy." They ask that we join them in prayer for the nation's healing.

Another matter of prayer is that the Library recently had to take out a loan to complete some significant damage repair from plumbing issues and reconstruct the basement of the building. The Barnes family asks that we join them in prayer for the funds they need to see this loan paid back and taken care of.

We ask that you join us in prayer for the Barnes and praise the Lord with us for the fruit that their labor has seen.
